Sometimes I forget how long it has been since I last posted! I get an idea and I just get so absorbed in it that everything else seems to disappear for awhile....When I spotted these little 6" x 6" canvases at Michael's a few weeks ago I just knew I could come up with something interesting.
Valentine's Day is coming up soon and so my mind turned to jewelery..:)
The background was done using lace like a stencil, yarn dipped in white glue for the form, then painting the inside of the heart with gold metallic. Now came the really fun part! I applied white glue to small areas first and then placed beads and vintage pearls from an old necklace to the surface.
I used tweezers and applied the beads one at a time which was oddly fun (and slightly addictive)!On the pink one I used some very small silver glass beads, clear bugle beads and the pink pearls and clasp from another old necklace. The inside smaller pearls are from the other necklace and an ecru color.
I finished them by adding clear glass glitter in dots here and there and then chose to color the glitter with ink to match the color theme of each canvas.
I still have 2 canvases left to decorate and I am not sure I am finished tweaking these two! It's kind of like that darned bubble wrap, once you start popping it's hard to stop.....Yikes!
