Handmade Monday

http://olgapoltava.blogspot.com/2010/08/handmade-monday-just-doily.html
I hope I did this right Olga as I am not conversant with putting links on a post but I have goven it a shot so here goes! Oh and thank you Olga for hosting this as I think it will be great fun!

I thought it was a super idea to have a special day just for showing handmade things and giving other bloggers a chance to make a comment or suggestion about what we have made.
For instance I made this wall hanging many years ago based on an idea in Marie Claire Idees a magazine I used to get in Montreal. I loved the colors and thought it was a wonderful way to use up bits of fabric I had in boxes. You will notice that there is still room for improvement though as I had always meant to add a flower to the vase on the right and although the original hanging in the magazine didn't have anything else I have always though the background looked a little blah. So maybe this is my chance to add some new touches to an old project and jazz it up!
Suggestions are always welcome! Have a great Monday making something with your hands...

I need to learn how to do those mosaic picturamas!

  1. Hello, Tina. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such sweet comments. I really do like your quilt. I have always wanted to make one myself but never seem to find the extra time.

I don't have any suggestions for "jazzing" up your quilt.I love the country colors and the patterns in it. I think it's quite lovely as it is. :-)

I hope you have a very beautiful day,
    Susan

  2. Dear Tina,

yes I would do some applications, the idea with the flower on the right side is charming. You could also make something with beads on it.
For making a mosaic you get the description on the blog little red house. There is a button on the right side when you click on it you get the instructions. It took me first a little time but now I am used to it. In case you have trouble with it we can email.
And please make a photo of your turquoise wall in case you paint it in that colour.
    Have a nice week!

  3. Hi Tina, your wall hanging is very pretty. It's so neatly done. I especially like the stacks of bowls and mugs. Quilting and making fabric appliques is what I'd love to learn one day. Thank you for joining Handmade Monday. Have a fabulous week!
