Just a little painting that was so much fun to do and made use of some of the lovely sparkly things people bring me to use!
I chose to use a piece of old rusted chain to hang it from and attached the chain with upholstery tacks that were rusted with a vinegar and salt bath for a few days.
Although I am no master photographer I hope the little sparklies show up well in the photos as I am putting this on Ebay today.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday! It's cold as heck here today and they are saying we may get a few flakes of snow sometime this week...Brrrr....has anyone else found that the summer whizzed by in a blur?
Being that the quieter time of the year is upon us I am toying with the idea this winter of getting a little more into fleshing out my blog, maybe sharing a bit more about my life and who I am as a person not only as a creative artist.
It is hard sometimes for a person who is essentially private to share details, but I have so enjoyed getting to know all of you and I feel I haven't been as open in talking about my everyday life, so I want to set aside a day each week where I can share something of what makes me who I am. Anyway it is a thought.
Take care and God bless!

What To Do With Old Doilies
Ahhh, a question that has boggled great minds for centuries! Well this past week I pulled out an old bottle of Plaid's Petal Porcelain and some old doilies that were given to me by a friend and did the unthinkable (to me anyway) I CUT them to fit a flower vase!!!
So here we are, with one of MANY old doilies, one of MANY glass flower vases from under the pantry, a little watered-down gesso mixed with lavender paint and voila!
I plan to make a few more of them since I have loads of doilies and tons of glass vases although it is time consuming waiting for the Petal Porcelain layers to dry, but I like the way it turned out overall.
I hope everyone has had a good week? It's been colder here and lots of rain (which I could have lived without right now) but at least it isn't snowing yet!
On to my next project......Happy Saturday everyone!

Small Projects Can Be Fun!
I love Texture and recently I found a jar of Golden's Fiber Paste that I had purchased a year ago and forgot I had...duh!
So last week I started a little project aptly named "Cupcake" that allowed me to utilize an old spoon from my collection as well. Heaven!
I also added a couple of stamps, but hating to overdo anything, I stopped after adding a vintage clutch of posies and a small bangle from a very old Indian anklet to the spoon.
All in all a fun little piece. As a side note I am hoping this picture only shows up once on this post. I have been told by a few of you that on occasion my photos show up in multiples even though I only loaded it once. Weird, but then what would life be without some weird in it?
On to the next project....this little lady will in my Etsy store later!
Have a great day and blessings to all!

Itty Bitty Eiffels
Wow does time fly when you are trying to burn the candle at both ends!
I did finally manage to get a "craft" item done though for which I am thrilled...
I started with these cute little Eiffel tower birdhouses that I found on sale at Michael's for $1.79 each!
After sanding and priming them I decided to wallpaper the flat surfaces and paint the remaining wood edges with pastel, metallic paint in pink, blue and platinum.
I also replaced the wood tops with crystals to which I added a bouquet of small posies.
The wallpaper was downloaded from the The Graphic's Fairy blog, of course, (isn't she just amazing) and was applied with Mod Podge.
I am hoping to sell them at the craft show I am doing the first week of December, fingers crossed! Or I may list them in my Etsy store (I have so little patience)!
If you noticed the wallpapered, green box the Eiffels are sitting on, that is my next project and by the end of the week I should have at least one of my mini shelf units complete and ready to show! Stay tuned!
I hope everyone is well and having a great beginning to the Fall season!
Love ya ....

Something Old and Something New
I am still having a love affair with texture and enjoying every minute and this past week the painting I was working on just screamed for a frame. So into the abyss that is my spare room I went to look through my collection of old frames.
I always seem to come across old, mangled frames whenever I stop at a garage sale and when I spot one that says "Adirondack" all over it I grab it and haul it home!
Although I had to adjust the size of this frame to fit the painting, I think all in all it was a perfect fit for the subject and colors.
I did put a new protective coat of Poly over it as the original finish was worn and I wanted to keep it looking old and vintage while not losing anymore of the finish.
So I am happy with the results and anxious to move on to the next project........small hint....
The painting will be on Ebay today...have a great Tuesday and keep moving forward!
